Muntigunung Village

The village of Muntigunung is one of Bali’s most socially and                 economically deprived villages located on the steep slopes of                    Mt Batur in the remote north east of Bali.

The holy man from the village cooks food for delivery to the elderly villagers further up the mountain, they were cooking there food in a building that was far to small to be able to cook the volume needed. Building Beyond Borders was approached by the Southern Cross Bali Association to look at the problem and see if between the 2 organizations it could be financed. The villagers demolished the old hut and built the new cookhouse come medical room to there own design and all credit goes to them.
